Willard Malcolm Johnson, Sr., 69, of Blackshear, died Friday morning May 4th, 2012 at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born in Savannah, GA on November 22, 1942 to the late Jack and Edna Johnson. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He lived the majority of his life in Waycross before becoming a resident of Blackshear and a former employee of Conley Sheet Metal. He lived a number of years in Augusta where he worked for Augusta Heating and Air. He enjoyed fishing and building things. He thought there was nothing he couldn’t take apart and put back together. He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Amanda Towns, grandson Corey Kuhlman, and his sister-in-law Pat Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Margaret Day Johnson, formerly of Cambridge England. Two daughters, Denise Johnson Kuhlman (Gene Crews) and Susan Johnson Towns (husband Paul); three sons, Malcolm Johnson, Jr. (Renee Clark), Stephen Johnson, and David Johnson (Janice Hicks); seven grandsons, Todd Kuhlman, Brandon Kuhlman, Austin Kuhlman, Will Johnson, Michael Johnson, Brian Towns and Cole Towns; two granddaughters, Jennifer Johnson and Heather Towns; and Dakota Kuhlman was his great grand son, two sisters Barbara Jean Johnson of Waycross and Jacquline Johnson of Hahira; three brothers Arnold Johnson (wife Becky) and Sam Johnson of Waycross and Billy Johnson of Alabama; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with family and close friends. The family will place his ashes between his mom and dad at New Home Cemetery in Offerman.
