Rev. A. Wayne Mills

Rev. A. Wayne Mills, 86 of Orlando, Florida left this earth for his eternal home on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Wayne was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on September 12, 1926 to the late Rev. Henry and Velma Mills. In 1953 along with his wife Jeanne, they began a life of full-time Christian service through the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring churches in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Along with his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne Lawhorn Mills, his brother Kerry Mills and his brother in law, Ed Lawhorn.

Wayne is survived by his children, Kimberly A. Mills of Orlando, Florida, Sandra McDowell and her husband Bob of Acworth, Georgia, and Greg Mills and his wife Tawanda of Orlando, Florida. His grandchildren, Angela Lindblad of Kennesaw, Georgia, William Wallace of Orlando, Florida, Errin Gimbert and her husband Scott, Joseph Mills and his wife Kelly, Amanda Chambers and her husband Johnny all of Orlando, Florida. His eight great-grandchildren Lauren, Jacob, Christopher and Brandon Lindblad and Sarah and Michael Rygh, Lindsey Gimbert and Macy Jeanne Chambers. He is also survived by his brothers Henry and his wife Eileen, Terry and his wife Diane, and Bob Mills. He is also survived by his sisters Nell Lawhorn and Peggy Mittel and her husband Gail Mittel, a sister-in-law, Lavetta Robinson Mills and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, April 24, at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11am, Wednesday at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
