Robert Ivan Merson, Jr., 61, of Waycross died Tuesday morning (Feb. 26, 2013) at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Key West, FL to the late Robert Ivan Merson, Sr. and Katherine Connors Merson. Along with his wife Mr. Merson moved to Waycross on April 2, 2001. He worked for the Jones Company in the Construction Division, building and remodeling Flash Food Stores. Mr. Merson was of the Episcopalian faith. He always enjoyed reading, building and working with his hands.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Taylor Merson of Waycross; two sons, Jeremy Merson and his wife Heather of Ft. Pierce, FL, Peter Merson of Miami; a step-daughter, Shannon Wilson of Waycross; five grandchildren, William Merson, Gabriell and Peter Merson, Brittany Wilson and Alyssia Martin; one great-grandchild, Elijah Thomas; two sisters, Shirley McCarther and her husband Tommy of North Carolina, Judy Johnson and her husband Tommy of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; one brother, Jimmy Merson of Ft. Myers, FL; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
